I wanted to give everybody a quick update. I heard late this afternoon, due to the unavailability of a couple of key doctors that comprise the transplant team, the medical review board did not meet this morning.
However, they are going to try to meet next Friday.
You’ll be happy to know that one major issue has been resolved as of this afternoon, though. Kevin and I decided we didn’t have enough turmoil in our lives at the moment, so we hired a contractor to remodel two of our three bathrooms. The bathroom down by the boys’ rooms has been taken completely down to the studs and the nasty fiberglass that had been blown up into the crawl space has all been removed while our boys were away last weekend. That’s the kind of stuff you find when your house is almost ninety years old. The whole thing has been exactly as pleasant as it sounds with dust everywhere.
All work halted this past week, though, because I couldn’t decide on the kind of tile I wanted. I had no idea there were so many choices. It’s completely overwhelming. And the commitment of choosing tile was entirely too much for me. At one low point this week, I thought to myself, I’d rather have a fourth baby than pick out tile that I’ll have to live with for the next twenty years.
That’s pretty low.
But I finally chose the tile this afternoon and it’s awesome. They say it will take four weeks to come in, which isn’t so awesome. I’m thinking the way my luck runs, we should have the bathroom finished right around the time Colman gets listed for a heart transplant and I’ll never have a chance to get a bath in my new bathroom.
That’s all for tonight. I’m going to go lie down in my bed of dust.
